My Goals for Wandering Scotland

My Blogging Goals 2016

Hi Guys,

I am currently taking part in the WordPress University course Branding and Growth in order to help me improve Wandering Scotland and grow my blog. Today’s task was to write out three set goals I hope to achieve for Wandering Scotland.

Without further ado, here goes:

  1. Have 100 Followers by the end of 2016
  2. Monetise my blog by September 2016
  3. Post at least once a week, every week

Given my track record I actually have to say number three might actually be the hardest of those three goal, which you wouldn’t think by looking at them.

Do you guys think I can achieve these goals? What do you suggest I do to meet them?

  1. Like you, I am taking the #bloggingbranding course, which is how I found you. I found I needed to connect with others in the class. Not knowing you, I can’t answer your first question with any hope of success, except to say that I’m sure you can if you set your mind to it.

In answer to your second question, I’m learning as I go, too, but I suspect that taking the commenting class after this one, if you haven’t already, might help you achieve that first goal. I haven’t taken it yet and am looking forward to it. I decided not to monetize my blog, so I’m no help with your second goal. As for the third one, to post at least once a week, that one’s a little easier. 1) Follow the Daily Post and get ideas there. 2) Brainstorm topics you want to post about, put the list where you can find it, and pick three that most grab your attention. 3) Write a rough draft for each of those topics, review them, take some original, illustrative photographs to draw readers in, and re-write the posts until you love them. Then schedule a publication date for each one. Pick three more from brainstorming list. Rinse. Repeat.

Now I’m off to see what else you’re writing about!

    1. Thanks for the advice! I’m getting better and better at coming up with new ideas and topics for blog posts, when people say the more you write the better you get they aren’t lying! I’m steadily working on the other two, the more I post the more followers I’m finding, so I’m currently on track. As for the money, I’m saving up to afford a hosting package on Bluehost or similar, because affiliates etc are more likely to work with a self hosted blog.
Hope you find something else you like!
