*Prepare for shameless plug and link to tickets for concert*
So I’ve been home for, what, just over a week, and I’m already getting details through for the next NYCoS trip of the summer! Exciting! What a jet set lifestyle, eh? Oh, and that next trip, nothing more than a wee trip to good ol’ London town for a sing-song in the big round building otherwise known as the Royal Albert Hall. That’s right, NYCoS will be performing at the BBC Proms! Aaaah! As if a tour of America wasn’t enough, I’m now also getting my first trip to London too! Oh. My. Gawd!
The National Youth Choir of Scotland will be performing Hector Berlioz’ Romeo et Juliette with Sir John Eliot Gardiner. NYCoS and Sir John Eliot have worked together before, performing the lesser known Berlioz piece Lélio, a follow-up piece to the far better known Symphonie Fantastique. I have these performances to thank for my new-found appreciation for Berlioz’ music. It’s actually pretty fantastic.
NYCoS is often called one of the best performing choirs in the world, and under the baton of such an illustrious conductor we make a rather fine sound! Come find out for yourself. You can buy tickets for Prom 20: Berlioz – Romeo and Juliette right here!
Have you guys been to any of the Proms this season? Any you’re going to? You coming to see NYCoS?
